Carl H. Cameau LDO, ABO-C

is an original Hudson Valley resident. With over 18 years in the optical world, he returned to Nyack following a number of years leading eyewear retail projects from New York to Los Angeles. His experience lead him to open Hudson Spectacles, a passion project close to home and his growing family. Carl brings his affinity for precision to create exceptional eyewear and beautiful sun wear. His insight from working in labs and with fashion designers has allowed Hudson Spectacles to grow to be the #1 recommended indie eyewear shop in the lower Hudson Valley.

In April 2025 we are collaborating with Dr. Sara Dawson from Just Eyes Optometry to bring back true neighborhood Optician & Optometry. With that we are able to see patients on both coasts of the Hudson River, and patients will have greater access to our lineup of amazing independent eyewear brands!

Sara Dawson, OD

Dr. Dawson was born and raised in Western New York State and completed her undergraduate education at SUNY Geneseo. She then went on to graduate in 2012 from SUNY College of Optometry in Manhattan where she completed her optometric training, including internships at West Point USMA and Northport VA hospital on Long Island. She and her husband David have lived in Ossining since 2016 and now can’t imagine living anywhere else! Some of her simple joys include running, coffee shops, hiking and laughing with her husband and two little boys.

She is the Founder, Owner and Operator of Just Eyes Optometry, located in Ossining, NY. Collaborating with Hudson Spectacles, she is now able to see patients on both coasts of the Hudson River and more locals get wider access to a wide range of independent eyewear brands!
